EDU Maktab was founded to solve a critical problem: cumbersome school paperwork that distracts teachers and frustrates parents. Kenya rolled out the new Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), and we built our platform to support its learner-centered approach.
We onboarded our first 50 schools across Kenya, proving that our locally-built solution addressed specific challenges faced by Kenyan educational institutions.
With mobile money usage at 91% in Kenya, we integrated M-PESA for seamless fee payments, making it easier for parents to pay school fees and for schools to track payments.
We reached a milestone of 200+ schools using EDU Maktab, managing over 50,000 students across Kenya.
